Welcome Dr. Taifa Ahmed to Vivant Medical
Dr Taifa Ahmed's holistic approach to medicine is best described as collaborative and compassionate care through a clinical lens. Having graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2015 and attaining Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020, Dr Taifa is committed to optimising family and community health outcomes by addressing the individual's mental and physical health goals within a non-judgemental environment.
As a mother of two, Dr Taifa appreciates the complexities of maternal and paediatric health, also drawing on her experience working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Westmead Hospital, Paediatric Emergency in Westmead Children's Hospital and Psychiatry at Cumberland Hospital. Enriching her clinical acumen in these fields, she has enjoyed completing the Diploma of Child Health (USyd), Professional Certificate of Women's Health and further postgraduate studies in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Family Planning NSW). Dr Taifa is also accredited for Implanon insertion and removal.
Having lived in various regions of New Zealand and Australia, she values the human connections formed with people of different backgrounds, utilising this insight in her patient-centred consultations. Dr Taifa also holds a special interest in dermatology and the prevention and detection of skin cancer, having completed a Diploma of Dermatology (Australian Institute of Dermatology) and Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. She often performs skin checks and excisions where clinically necessary.
When not at work, Dr Taifa embraces her creative side by adding to her ever growing pile of "to be read" books, entering various painting competitions and creating adventurous bedtime stories for her children.
